Events

The work of the Task Force takes various forms. The members and observers often participate in or organize events related to SSE. The Task Force also regularly hosts side-events during relevant UN processes and civil society conferences. Those activities help raise the visibility of the role that SSE organizations play in sustainable development.

Workshop: Social and Solidarity Economy for Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals in Asia

The ILO is organizing a regional workshop on the social and solidarity economy in Asia in Bangkok, Thailand on 18-19 June 2024. Following presentations and discussions countrywide teams from Cambodia, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam will work on national action plans. OECD Webinar – Worker co-operatives across continents: Policy and practical experiences from Japan

In 2020, the Japanese legislature unanimously approved a groundbreaking law focusing on worker co-operatives, providing for the first time a centralised legal framework for the country’s worker co-operative movement. Worker co-operatives are active in many countries, and across economic and social sectors (e.g., agriculture, education, industry, culture, services, infrastructure such as electricity and water etc.).
