The international centre for innovation and knowledge transfer on the social and solidarity economy (CITIES) was founded based on the resolution signed by mayors and the representatives social economy networks in Montreal, Barcelona, and Seoul at Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF) 2016 in Montréal to create international centre dedicated to knowledge transfer in social economy.
CITIES supports the international gathering, sharing and transfer of knowledge and best practices in the field of the social economy. It focuses on collaborations between local governments and civil society that enable territorial development. CITIES brings together local governments, social economy networks, institutions of higher learning and international organizations.
While social innovations and meaningful initiatives spread across the world, CITIES aims to facilitate the successful scaling of the social economy by promoting the sharing of knowledge and good practices at an international level.
Finally, CITIES believes that the social and solidarity economy is the key to the harmonious development of territories. While social innovations and meaningful initiatives spread across the world, the organization aims to facilitate the successful scaling of the social economy by promoting the sharing of knowledge and good practices at an international level.
